Geneva-based Franc Vila has a rather unique way of designing watches, and this can definitely be said about the brand’s first dive watch, as seen below.
The Franc Vila Intrepido Diver Superligero (Ref. FVi62) was first presented in June 2015 (see previous article) and comes in four versions (with either red or blue accents and a titanium case, with or without DLC).
Each version is limited to 88 pieces and equipped with a partially covered, external bezel that can be locked with the crown at 8 o’clock. Even though its 57-mm wide case is water-resistant to 300 meters, the Intrepido Diver Superligero comes with a helium-release valve.
Inside the big case, the FV62 movement offers around 48 hours of power reserve (with an indicator on the dial), a big date (the mechanism is partially visible thanks to the partially skeletonized dial), and 31 jewels, and seems to be colored in either red or blue depending on the model.
When we at DiveIntoWatches.com visited Franc Vila’s new boutique in Geneva, we were able to take a closer look at the blue DLC version and were especially interested in seeing the transparent hands up-close.
Both the sapphire crystal and the entire caseback are curved.
Prices are $15,000 for the model in brushed titanium and $16,500 for the one on the black DLC titanium case.
Belongs with the monsters of the deep.
