Seiko Celebrates its First Wristwatch With Limited Presage Model

Seiko will celebrate the 110th anniversary of the debut of its first wristwatch, the Laurel, with some special editions in 2023. The festivities will be kicked by the Seiko Watchmaking 110th Anniversary Seiko Presage Limited Edition, a faithful recreation inspired by the 1913 original that reflects both the shape and design of the Laurel in every detail.

The round stainless steel case measures 37.5mm in diameter and 12.6mm in height, and encloses an enamel dial made by master craftsman Mitsuru Yokosawa. The retro-style Arabic numerals and fine blued hands are accompanied by a power reserve indicator located at 9 o’clock and subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock.

Powering the Seiko Watchmaking 110th Anniversary Seiko Presage Limited Edition is caliber 6R27. The watch has a price tag of approximately $2,000 when converted to USD and will hit the stores in January. 2,500 models will be available.
