At this year’s Watches and Wonders, Jaeger-LeCoultre continues the more than 90-year history of the Reverso with a technically complex and aesthetically expressive chronograph model. The Reverso Tribute Chronograph succeeds a model from 1996, launched at the time as part of a special series of grand complications as a newly developed integrated chronograph with manual winding. The newcomer will be available in stainless steel with a blue-gray dial and in red gold with a black dial.
In typical Reverso fashion, the technical complexity is revealed only when you turn the reversible case. While the front presents an understated, elegant two-hand face with the style-defining baton hour markers, dauphine hands, and a railroad minute track, the back side displays the chronograph. The second time display with central chronograph second and the separate sub-dial for the retrograde minute arise above the skeletonized dial.
The refined architecture allows insights into the microcosm of the new hand-wound caliber 860, a column-wheel chronograph with horizontal coupling. Despite the high energy requirements of the retrograde mechanism in combination with two time displays, the exquisitely flat form movement offers a power autonomy of 52 hours and fits perfectly into the case, which is only 9.79mm high. The Reverso Tribute Chronograph has a diameter of 49.4mm x 29.9mm and is held by a leather and canvas strap from the Argentine manufacture Casa Fagliano.
