TAG-Heuer’s New Link Chronograph, the Brand finally recognizes the potential of what was the Collection that launched it’s own re-birth in ’88, the S/el (now evolved into a 2nd generation Link). Brand awareness, and visibility with most is determined by cosmetics, the Head, the Bezel, the Shape, even a Crown Protector, with this execution, the Brand finally re-recognizes the Bracelet pattern that for so many years has been used to create Limited editions etc., cross pollinating in lesser Collections compromising the higher impact of the Brands natural hero Collection. Though Link had retreated with all of the Homage Collections, various attempts at Carrera, more than any other, there is a dynamism with this, and in my opinion a return to the Uni-Directional Bezel would be a plus, adding the Tachymeter to the area above the Minute-Second Track, where needed for Function. The new Pushers are an enhancement, and though the initial product did have a patterned Brown Strap, something bolder, whether Rubber or another coming off the Head-Link can be an alternative, as well as boldly colored Straps as were implemented in ’96. I’m glad to this Collection is finally getting the attention it deserves, iconic and one chosen regardless of economic class and a natural connection to the Brands history having been worn by Ayrton Senna throughout the relationship. “Back to the Future, the Once and Future King!”
