Sophisticated Traveling: Meet the New Laurent Ferrier Classic Traveller Timepiece

Right in the heat of the for summer travel season, Laurent Ferrier presents a new version of its Classic Traveller GMT timepiece in the Classic Traveller “Série Atelier” Magnetic.

As its name suggests, the new watch features a green dial whose vibrancy is highlighted by a fine sunburst finishing. First introduced in 2013, the contemporary Classic Traveller GMT complication indicates the home time through a window at 9 o’clock. The local time is indicated by the central “Assegai” white gold hands that echo the sophisticated shape of the likewise white gold, drop-shaped hour markers. They contrast nicely with the 1920s-style cursive typeface Arabic numerals of the subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. Local time can be adjusted in hourly increments via the two correctors on the left side of the titanium case which has a diameter of 41mm and slender height of 10mm.

To the delight of connoisseurs and enthusiasts, the genuine LF230.02 calibre, a self-winding movement with a micro-rotor and natural escapement that was designed in collaboration with La Fabrique du Temps, comes to life through an exhibition case back. Beating at 21,600 vph, it does not only offer a power reserve of 80 hours, but also displays top-notch finishing and decoration quality as we are used from this Genevan manufacture. Among them are the finely circular-grained mainplate, the hand-beveled bridges decorated with a horizontal rhodium-plated satin finish, the mirror-polished openwork anchor bridge revealing exceptional hand-crafted interior angles and the beveled rotor with a barley guilloché pattern.

In line with previous editions by Laurent Ferrier, this Classic Traveller Magnetic Green “Série Atelier” is produced in a limited edition of just 15 pieces, available exclusively on the brand’s website. Retail is 62,000 CHF or just under $65,000.
